MYRRHIS
MYRRHIS
APIACEAE
Sweet Cicely has attractive, scented, fern-like foliage, topped by umbels of creamy-white flowers in late spring.
There is just one species, native to river- and streamsides, grassy banks or woodland edges across the mountainous regions of Europe. It has also naturalised in northern Europe and Britain.
This plant is fairly versatile, preferring fertile, moist soil, but able to thrive in drier conditions also, in either sun or shade.
