Himalayan Poppy
Some 50 species, from the Himalaya, western China and Tibet.
The Asian species can be quite a challenge to grow, preferring very moist conditions especially in the summer flowering period. Quite a few species are monocarpic and lime intolerant.
The western European M.cambrica (Welsh Poppy) is easy to grow in most gardens.
These will proliferate by seed.
