Tickseed have daisy-like blooms and often flower for a long period during summer. Although some species are annual, most are grown as short-lived perennials.
There are about 115 species, only found across North and South America and many garden hybrids are being bred, predominately in the USA.
Most species do best in a sunny spot, with well-drained soil. They will not tolerate waterlogged conditions, especially in winter.
